What is your background before you joined Real Estate world? How did you stumble upon it?
Prior to becoming a Realtor, I was the Administrator of affordable housing programs at the Florida Housing Finance Corporation (FHFC). During my 7 year tenure at FHFC, we assisted first time home buyers with over $1 billion in low interest rate loans and down payment assistance. My journey as an entrepreneur started in real estate investing and later grew into a full-time real estate career, helping others achieve their buying and selling real estate goals.
What is your specialty in Real Estate?
My specialty is residential, investment, and small scale commercial sales. Though I assist buyers and sellers with various types of real estate transactions, I hold a special place in my heart for first time home buyers and veterans.
What are your achievements – you can list both professional and personal?
My most notable personal accomplishment is obtaining a B.S. in Business Economics and a Master of Applied Social Sciences degree from Florida A&M University as a young, single mother. I’ve been very fortunate to raise two beautiful, intelligent, witty, loving and supportive daughters, Kiara (29) and Imani (18). I currently serve as the Tallahassee Board of Realtors Equal Opportunity Committee Chair. I served on the Leon County Affordable Housing Advisory Committee as Chair from 2013-2019. What advice would you give yourself if you could go back to the start of your Real Estate career?
Hire a coach (or find a mentor) and join an awesome brokerage that meets your needs as a new real estate agent.
What do you want your clients to remember about your customer service? What is different and special about your client experience?
I live by the Shirley Chisholm quote in everything that I do. I’m always approaching the way I do business from a place of service. I want my clients to know and remember that I care about helping them make what is usually the biggest choices they’ll ever make…even past closing day.
What have you enjoyed most about your photo experience with Ti Adoro Studios?
Alena has made this experience so enjoyable. I’m not a big picture taker! The fact that she made me feel comfortable during this process and made me look amazing at the same time, says a lot about how great she is at her profession.
